I have looked for a replacement for my aging cervical neck pillow for several years. Since these pillows are rather pricey, I wanted to be sure I made the right choice. The first night I tried sleeping on the traction side, but that soon became uncomfortable to me. I switched to the other side, and it was very comfortable. Of course, the cervical pillow was not a new experience for me, so there wasn’t much time spent in getting used to it. I am a back sleeper, and even though the advertisement says it can be used by a side sleeper, I don’t think it would be very comfortable.
For me, the pillow is very much what I needed and hoped it would be.
I need a good pillow or sleeping aide for someone with back problems and snores?
I have a friend who sleeps on a hard futon, and snoring Pillows he snores and has back problems. I want to buy him something for xmas that will help him sleep better and have better posture or position when he sleeps. Some things I have in mind are memory foam bed pads, or neck pillows... something to that idea.

I have spent an unreasonable amount of money over the years looking for the perfect pillow. There’s a pile of abandoned pillows next to my bed that just weren’t right. If I’m going to spend that much time sleeping on a pillow, I want it to be perfect! And with this pillow, I’ve finally got everything I wanted! It is not your average foam pillow. This material is extremely dense and surprisingly heavy, which means that even though it feels very soft and pleasant, it has a nice amount of resistance and support. I actually use all sides of this pillow quite happily. I have finally found the pillow I can’t wait to put my head on! I haven’t slept this well since I was a kid and I have no neck or shoulder stiffness. I will never ever sleep on another pillow if I can avoid it. My search is over. This is The Perfect Pillow.
I bought this pillow to hopefully reduce my husband’s loud snoring. It seemed to help reduce the loudness of his snoring for the first day or two, but his snoring is again as loud as it was before he started using the anti-snore pillow. My husband has also complained that it is not a very comfortable pillow to sleep on. By the time he woke up in the morning, his neck felt stiff from being in a higher, more rigid position all night vs. a regular pillow. I can not recommend this pillow, unfortunately.
I bought the side sleeper pillow because of neck and shoulder pain and constant headaches.
Well, after two nights the sore neck is gone.
However, I have not been able to get rid of the persistent memory foam odor from the pillow. I put it out in the garage for about five days and nights, sprinkled and rubbed baking powder, sprayed “Febreze,” sprayed rubbing alcohol, ran it in the dryer with the air setting, used a heat gun to make it hot, and sat on it for hours on end. The odor goes away for about an hour or so, then returns.
I still use it because it ended the sore neck muscles and hope it will end my waking up with moderately severe headaches, Every morning, I take it out of it’s pillow cover, place the cover and the two pillow cases in the dryer with dryer strips to remove the odor from the material. I then place the pillow in the sun and later sit on it to force the air that is trapped in the foam. I going to get a polyester pillow case for it and then place the cotton pillow case over it.
The pillow is just ok. It would have been better if it was contoured on both sides. It does get kind of warm and I thought that the memory foam would prevent this. Other than that, it is a good side sleeping pillow, as long as you don’t change positions.
I am very satisfied with my wedge pillow. I have acid refux and it allows me to sleep at night with no problem. I toss and turn a lot and it doesn’t matter how you sleep its comfortable.
I like this pillow. I’ve been using it a couple weeks now. I didn’t notice any smell like some reviewers mentioned. The pillow is firm, but it’s no more so than the 12″ one I used to use. I bought the 7″ because I kept sliding down the 12″. I put the pillow between the mattress and boxspring so that I’m actually sleeping on the mattress, not the pillow. I thought it would be more comfortable and that I wouldn’t slide down as easily. It’s a little better but I still can’t help sliding down. Maybe they should make these pillows with seat belts.
I received my order in 2 days (which I was very pleased with) and I couldn’t wait to go to sleep to try it out! Unfortunately, I cannot get used to the wedge at all. I keep sliding off of it and waking up at night trying to get comfortable. I have GERD and I cannot say YET whether it works or not because I keep sliding off all the time. I’ve had the wedge for 3 days now and I’ve also had horrible sleep ever since I started using it. Bottom line is, I will not be buying a second one once this one wears out. I’d recommend making your own or figuring out a way to elevate your head without spending the $30.
I bought the wedge for acid reflux but it served nicely to reduce swelling in my pregnant wife’s feet. Product looks flimsy (so no 5-star) but has lasted the pregnancy.
This pillow is great for anyone suffering from some neck and shoulder muscle pain. It takes a while to adjust to the confinement but it made a big difference when I woke up in the morning. The only problem I ran into is that I sleep on my side and my back to I would have to rearrange the pillow.
THIS PRODUCT GIVES ME A WONDERFUL NITES SLEEP.
THE BEST ADDITION TO MY BEDDING.
RECCOMEND HIGHLY TO ANYONE WITH NECK & BACK PAIN.
I am extremely pleased with this product. I have suffered from neck ‘problems’ for years as my neck curves the opposite of what it should. With weekly visits to the chiropractor, massage therapy and the use of this pillow now, I feel better than I have ever felt in years! The support from this pillow is awesome – back or side sleepers – I wake up without a stiff neck or pain. I highly recommend this product, it is worth the money!
The traction side of the pillow pulls too much to be helpful for me, but the other side started helping the first night that I tried it. After weeks of waking with a terrible headache and nausea, I was resolved to never sleeping decently again. This pillow gave me my first night of sleep without feeling much worse in the morning. I can’t sleep without it and need to buy another to have as a spare. For me it was worth every penny. The traction side might be a little more effective if it was slightly softer, maybe it would have worked for me. The non-traction side is good enough for me.
The pillow is comfortable, though maybe too firm for some people’s taste, though I really like it. The cutouts for your cpap mask are only on the two lower corners, it doesn’t run all the way across. That makes it work for your head to be on a firm supportive surface but your mask will easily fit into the cutout if you sleep near one of the pillow edges. The pillow does fit into a normal sized pillow case. All in all, it’s a bit more comfortable than a normal pillow while you’re using your cpap, but it’s not a world changing difference.
I really just can’t say enough good about this pillow. I would never be without this pillow again and have purchased many for family members who rave about it. I have even purchased extra’s just in case for some reason they are discontinued! I received this pillow 2 days after ordering so all around, this was a great experience.
I have had constant headaches and neck aches when waking up for a year now. Enough to make me go to the chiropractor 1-2 times a week. After using this pillow one night no more headaches. Its amazing. My only complaint is how heavy it is. But of course with 5 liters of water what can you expect!
I am recovering from whiplash and have tried a number of different pillows in hope that I would find a pillow that will support my neck enough so I can relax my neck muscles when I sleep. Unfortunately, this pillow doesn’t do the trick and my neck is unsupported especially on my side. Filling up the pillow with more water doesn’t help, it just props up my head, and reducing the amount of water doesn’t help either since that offers even less support. There are a lot of good reviews for this product, the pillow may work better for those that suffer from chronic neck pain instead of trauma induced neck pain?? I never had any neck pain or stiffness prior to the whiplash.
If you have neck problems you’ll love this pillow! I have latex foam, expensive brand name foams, pillow loft foam, feather down, but nothing is as comfortable as my water pillow. Mediflow Waterbase Pillow
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. At the store they specifically told me it was a “personal item” but I could try it as long as I kept the plastic on it. As I took it out of the box, the plastic ripped so that option was out.
As soon as we took it out, we noticed a very strong chemical smell. It was not usable. We took the case off and washed it twice and the smell did not go away. I called customer service as was told that they package the pillows too soon and that leaves the smell. They told me to roll the pillow up tightly and then unroll it and the smell would go away in 24 hours. Two days later, the smell was still there so I called customer service and repeated my concerns. I was told there was nothing they could do about it since it is a “personal item”. So now I’m out a hundred dollars for a pillow that can not be in the same room as me because it smells so bad it makes my head hurt. We will never shop at Brookstone again and my credit card company has started an inquiry.
I bought the anti-snore pillow from Brookstone last week and the chemical smell is terrible. I’ve been trying to air it out but am also concerned that it’s going to cause cancer or something! Product is not usable unless the smell goes away. It did stop my snoring for the night I used it but I’m afraid of the consequences!
I don’t snore, but sometimes do have trouble with congestion, a stiff neck/shoulder, and not feeling rested in the morning when I don’t use a supportive pillow and good mattress.
I bought this as a replacement for my no-longer-available Sealy Posturepedic pillow (http://www.amazon.com/Sealy-Posturepedic-Reduction-Memory-Pillow/dp/B0000CEVOK).
The Brookstone pillow is larger, firmer and higher than my Sealy pillow, but has the same ear wells, neck dip and basic design. The Brookstone pillow did need to be aired out initially, and was fine after an hour or two. The Brookstone pillow has a set of adjustable (& removable) inserts to customize neck support. As expected, I did have a bit of soreness for a day or two as my body adjusted to the new pillow but overall, it was a smooth transition. While I still use my Sealy pillow occasionally, I like the Brookstone pillow about as much as my Sealy pillow after having the Brookstone pillow for about a week.
I would be more enthusiastic about the Brookstone pillow if my experience with my Sealy pillow hadn’t been quite as good. The Sealy pillow cost $40 and lasted 5+ years without a problem; the Brookstone pillow is $100 with an unknown lifespan. I feel that I got a much better value with my Sealy pillow, but only so-so value with the Brookstone one, even if it does last me for the next 5 years.
