While following the instructions PRECISELY, the mouthpiece melted into a ball in such a way that it simply could not be recovered. Bummer. I highly recommend trying to shape it with less heat and time than what is given in the instructions.
What's the most effective way to stop or reduce snoring?
Any devices that can be purchased on Ebay? What about that anti-snoring ring, is that any use?

I have been buying these for over 2 years. Such a relief during allergy season!
LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE TO USE & THEY KEEP POPPING OUT OF MY MOUTH AT NIGHT BECAUSE I ALWAYS WAKE UP TO FIND THEM SOMEWHERE IN MY BED, NOT MY MOUTH. PLUS MY HUSBAND SAYS THEY DON’T REALLY WORK AS I STILL SNORE WITH THEM IN
Not as effective as Breathe Right strips, but quicker and easier to put on and cheaper to use over time.
I’ve been using these for about 2 weeks now and they definitely do work. I’ll reiterate another reviewer’s comments that the instructions appear to be wrong. They show the device inside-out. The one large protruding platic bump on each end should be pointing in towards your nasal cavity, not out against the inner wall of your nose. Once I made that correction, the device was instantly more comfortable and stable. I am able to sleep throughout the night with this in my nose and it definitely increases my ability to breathe. I have never had the issue of it falling out during the middle of the night. I also use this device in conjunction with a CPAP machine and it works great. The only reason I didn’t give it 4 stars is that I already sense the strip getting weaker after 2 weeks. I suspect they lose their firmness after a while and you’ve got to buy more. Other than that, I highly recommend it.
Don’t bother, it’s a total waste of money!!!! I followed the directions to the letter and even used a timer. The plastic rolled up before I could pop it in my mouth. In addition, it shrank to the size for a toddlers use. My suggestion, go to your doctor &/or dentist and get the device from a professional. Short cuts do not work with this type of device!!!
This is a fantastic mouthpiece, comfortable to wear, and really stops the snoring. We were sleeping in separate rooms. I just couldn’t tolerate his snoring anymore. And now we’re back together.
My husband has turned into a terrible snorer. Started a few years ago – mostly towards morning. Has gotten to the buzz saw stage where he starts nearly as soon as his head hits the pillow and goes all night until the alarm clock.
He tried the nose strips and sprays and everything else over the counter. Asked his doctor – advised to lose some weight, stop drinking alcohol, avoid certain foods. And none of that was going to happen with him in any consistency enough to possibly make a difference.
We were at the point of trying a mouth guard. Insurance won’t cover the ones the dentist’s provide (over $600 out of pocket!) unless he went the sleep study route and was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Because we were now fighting over the bed at night (who has to go to the couch) we were ready to go thru this process even though there would still be no garuntee the snoring would stop.
Looked online and couldn’t find enough positive stuff to really point to any one mouth guard as being better over the other so I went with one that was, well, the cheapest. For less than $30 I felt it was worth a shot.
We have both now had 4 nights of totally uninterrupted sleep. Me not being forced to endure the noise and him not getting ‘nudged’ constantly. It was truly amazing as the very first night he used it he ceased totally in the snoring!
This device may not be for everyone’s needs but I highly recommend that if you were anywhere near in the same situation as us to definitely give this a try.
The packaging does say it needs to be replaced every 3-4 months – I will happily do this for the results we are getting.
I have been using the SnoreMeds mouthpiece for about 4 months now. I am using the third one and about to order a fourth. I have struggled with non-refreshing sleep for 10 years. The mouthpiece let me wake up refreshed! I do not feel drowsy and have much more energy throughout the day. Molding is not a big deal, just remember to push your jaw forward (comfortably) and bite down hard and hold it that way for at least half a minute. Then put the mouthpiece in ice-cold water. I do wake up with a slightly sore jaw/teeth on some days, but it lasts for a few minutes only.
Also, in my experience, the jaw does not remain in the intended position throughout the night. As I fall asleep, my jaws relax and the teeth are a little bit out of the mouthpiece. Despite this, the presence of the mouthpiece does keep the airway open by preventing the collapse of the upper palate.
Just to check, I slept on some days without the mouthpiece, and felt miserably drowsy the next day! I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and just could not do the CPAP. Although the manufacturers say the mouthpiece is not for those with sleep apnea, I would say it is good as a temporary remedy. I am now considering a dentist-made custom mouthpiece.
This review and recommendation is entirely based on my experience. Hope yours is similar too!
When I use this mouthpiece, I breathe evenly and have a good night sleep. My snoring is significantly reduced, my family is happy. I would recommend this product.
I’ve been using this product for 9 months now. It works great! My snoring is about 85% better. My husband can sleep through the night. This snore-guard is pretty comfortable. I also tried a different brand, but, with that one, the material on the front was wider, so that it covered my gums more. It was very uncomfortable. This one comes to the top edge of the teeth. It will take about a month to get used to it. You may have to boil it more than one to get a good fit.
It worked. I don’t snore when it’s in. My wife loves me again, I think. It’s like a sports mouthpiece that goes over both the top and bottom teeth with a hole between for breathing through if needed. You put it in newly boiled water for 13 seconds, clamp it in your jaws with the lower jaw jutting forward a bit for a minute, cool it in cold water, and wear it to bed. You rinse it with cold water and then alcohol in the morning. Easy. It changes shape a little over time, so you have to remold it every couple of months or so. They do wear out eventually–I’m on my second one in a year, I guess. I was afraid it would disturb my sleep, but I got used to it quickly. Drawbacks? It’s not sexy (but neither is snoring). My teeth kind of hurt the day after the first few times (but I think I hadn’t molded it right, actually). It leaves my bite a little bit off all day (that is the major drawback, but it’s a fair trade-off for snoring, in my book). I salivate some when I first put it in each time. I can’t talk very well with it in. That’s about it. Plusses? Happy wife. Eliminates any tooth-grinding. NO SNORING!
This is not a high-quality manufactured product. It comes in a plain generic box with a sticker applied to the inside with the brand name of the product. I followed instructions carefully and it will not mold properly. I thought I might outsmart the the rule of “you get what you pay for” on this one, but no such luck. You actually DO get what you pay for. Don’t expect a life-changing solution for $45.
Okay, 5 stars for me too. I’ve used these for 2 weeks straight and know I won’t be able to sleep without them. I had nostril surgery 4 years ago to rebuild the walls for support and the right one is closing again. I found this on Amazon and although it’s pretty pricey, if it works like for me, it’s worth it. If you feel yourself forcing to breath then either the size is too large or you’ve placed them inside the nostril too deeply. Don’t worry about if they hang out, they don’t fall out (for me anyway). Thanx to all who took the time to write a review and give suggestions.
I have tried several similar products and this is one of the least comfortable. It only slightly helps breathing, and was uncomfortable. To me, the fact that you are adding a tube to your nose means that the nostrils have to be that much wider in order for it work. It also didn’t seem to go in far enough to be effective. I believe it is over priced as it is only three sizes of rubber tubing with a notch cut out of it. I had much better luck with the nosovent.
