Temperature gauge and the drain are the biggest plus points over the traditional bath tubs.

Sleep-Deprived and boyfriend making it worse??
I recently had a baby, and have not slept thru the night in over 2 months. It’s gotten to the point that I honestly do not think I will EVER recover from the effects of sleep deprivation (trust me, it does happen!) I take care of the baby 24/7. My boyfriend who basically lives with me (though he's not on the lease, and does not pay bills) is on the computer from the MINUTE he walks in the door until he goes to bed (4 or 5 in the morning), then proceeds to SLEEP all day! He NEVER offers to cook for me, he leaves dirty dishes all over the place that I have to wash. I do his laundry, and when I asked him to give me a couple of bucks of week to help with that, he had a coronary!! He doesn't vacuum or mop the floor...NOTHING. He just causes more work for me. Also, when he spends the night, I cannot get any sleep, because he’s on Youtube with the computer speakers Infant snoring cranked up really loud, then he has the tv on even louder. The noise level is off the charts! My infant daughter gets fussy because of the constant noise, so she and I have to hang out in the bedroom. When she and I go to bed, he STILL has the tv and computer blaring. My daughter sleeps best if she’s put to bed with me at night, but when her father comes over, she has to sleep in her bassinet. She makes noises all night, and I jump up, thinking that she’s suffocating or something. She’s just making restless noises, because she isn’t sleeping well. So I don’t sleep well at all. When her father finally decides to go to bed at 4 or 5 in the morning, he wakes me up by snoring and shifting around in the bed. During the day, when the baby wants to nap, she can’t nap on the bed like she’s used to, because my boyfriend is in it! So she has to sleep in her bassinet, I have to nap on the couch, etc...our schedules are REALLY messed up when he stays over. He’s at my house practically every day of the week, but he won’t help pay bills. Who does he think is paying for the internet he uses, or for the cable that he watches?? How about all the electricity is takes to run the tv and internet, not to mention the air conditioning? Like I said before, I have to BEG him for a couple of bucks to do HIS laundry, but he always has money to go out with his friends, and to buy books and things for himself!I've been with him for almost 5 years, and I'm SO OVER him! I want him to start staying at his own house more (he lives with his mom), but every time I SUGGEST this, he gets upset and says, “Fine, then I won’t stay over anymore!” I’m too tired to fight with him. How do I handle this situation? I really want to just break up and be friends, but I’m afraid that I’ll hurt his feelings..

Love this!!!!!!! I have a regular baby bath tub and I used it with my son for the first month or so and it was a real chore to bathe him. You’re so busy trying to keep them from sliding to one side or getting water in their ears. You have to keep one hand on the baby at all times so trying to wash with only one hand is very difficult. Then I saw this bather on Amazon.com and I read the reviews. I decided to try it and I’m so glad I did. My son is 3 months old now and we use this bather for every bath. Mostly, I just set it inside of the baby bath tub. He fits right down inside and there is no more sliding around. I am free to use two hands to wash him and he stays warm during the bath so no more screaming. Other times I lay it in our bath tub and he just lays there staring up at me. I have already told all my pregnant friends about this safer bather. I just love it because it helps make his bath time a good bonding time…not something we’re both dreading.

I bought this Bath pad to replace the insert in my plastic baby tub that I was using. My daughter would slide off of the old insert that came with the original tub. This bath pad works so well. She feels so secure and comfortable on it. It fills with water from the plastic tub and keeps her warm throughout her bathtime. The one thing you must do is allow it to drip dry after each bath. It comes with a plastic hanger which is removable during bathtime that you can hang it with for easy drying. I’ve washed the pad a few times to get rid of the slight moldy smell it got after forgetting to leave it out to dry and it comes out great after the wash! She is now 6 months old and we are going to move on to the sister product Leachco Bath ‘N Bumper – Cushioned Bath Tub – Blue Fishwhich allows her to sit up more during bathtime.

I recently bought this item despite some of the negative replies about the mildew. My child was so uncomfortable in the plastic tub I originally used. This item was a godsend. My baby is now 5 month old and over 20 pounds and cannot sit up yet. His little legs are so tubby I think he would have a hard time fitting in the little plastic seat bathers and forget the small plastic tubs. I can lie him on this and it supports him and doesn’t hurt his back and I can turn him over to bathe both sides. I have had this item for over 2 months and no mildew problems. I don’t recommend the washing machine because it messed up the fabric when it went on the spin cycle. I just hang it up and let it drip dry and so far no problems! It’s not an item you can resell but it definately helped me out and I highly recommend it.

Good to use after baby has outgrown the plastic tubs and before they can sit up. Must wring out and hang, but I didn’t have problems with mold. I threw away after he outgrew it, not something you want to keep. Very soft, worked great!

Purchased this to go on the nice hutch we purchased, rather than on a regular changing table. Our nursery is small, so we didn’t have room for a separate changing table, and the hutch we purchased is designed to be used for changing diapers, if desired. We didn’t use the strap, since we only used this until our son became more alert and squirmed around too much, so it wasn’t really necessary to strap him in, since we never left his side while changing him. Unbeknownst to me, my husband tucked the straps under the changing pad, and the plastic buckles scratched up the wood on the hutch. Not Summer Infant’s fault, so I can’t hold it against them. I had been tucking the straps up under the changing pad cover, but one time when my husband put a fresh cover on, he simply tucked them under the pad, rather than up into the cover, and I didn’t realize it until the next time we changed the cover, which was a couple diaper changes later. We ended up cutting the straps off, so we wouldn’t do anymore damage to the hutch.

This changing pad is huge. I don’t think it is easy to figure that out by looking at the picture shown. Still, I love it. It has a vinyl style cover on it, so I usually lay some type of cloth down on top before placing my 7 week old daughter down to change her diaper so she won’t be cold. It is a thick cushion that feels comfortable when you press down on it. The sides are slightly curved so baby cannot roll off easily (always supervise your baby while she is laying on this pad just in case). It comes with an attached strap that can be fastened to a table so that it doesn’t move. Very nice, but very big… keep that in mind when purchasing if you have a very small changing table.

This pad is big and padded. I looked at my local store and the only one they had was identical and twice the price! I am so glad I went with this one. I have two in my house and bought one for a friend and she is also happy with it. I made covers for it but the store bought one I have also fits well.

  8. Kurtz says:

I bought a different product that was too long (didn’t realize they come in different sizes), and had 3 sides so didn’t fit the comfy covers I’d already got. I got this instead and it works great. It washes clean but I still like the covers on to make it softer. I wish the bottom was firmer (its quite firm but not totally rigid), for putting on the covers I have.

It was much more economical to purchase the kit as opposed to buying everything individually. There are things that your baby will not use at least for a couple of months but it is very user friendly.

The only downfall is that when the battery in the thermometer goes dead it cannot be replaced. I received mine with a dead battery so my thermometer is useless but there is also the forehead temperature reader so I am using that instead.

This product isn’t bad but when purchased try to get one with a reusable thermometer.

  10. Bench says:

The quality of the products does not seem as good as the picture. It looks cheap.

  11. Joseph says:

I bought this kit because I wanted the temperature tester that many people raved about in the reviews. However, when I actually got the kit, it wasn’t the kit that was pictured. In fact, it’s a 26 piece set and not a 24 piece set. You actually get the Deluxe Baby’s Essential Kit from Summer Infant instead. Apparently, they no longer make this kit and when I wrote Amazon to complain about it, they told me to take it up with Target instead. Finally ended up keeping the kit because it was such a pain to resolve the issue and they don’t offer the kit I was looking for anymore. Haven’t really found anything useful in the kit except for the nail clipper and nail files. Save your money and just buy the pieces you need instead.
